Job Description

Overview

  • Provide professional nursing care in labor and delivery settings, ensuring adherence to established standards and protocols.
  • Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care effectively.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to support and enhance treatment plans for patients.
  • Educate patients and families regarding care plans, disease management, and health promotion.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • Work night shifts in a dynamic and supportive healthcare environment.
  • Contribute to a culture of excellence, professional development, and teamwork.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training opportunities to advance nursing skills.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Monitor and assess patients during labor and delivery, providing timely interventions as needed.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting care and progress.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide emotional and physical support to patients and families during childbirth.
  • Participate in fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation as required.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards in all procedures.
  • Support and mentor junior nursing staff and students in clinical practices.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Colorado.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in perinatal nursing; 2 years preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, preferably EPIC.
  • Strong understanding of fetal heart monitoring and neonatal care practices.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous but not required.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development.
