Job Description

Overview

  • Provide essential nursing care in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting practitioners and ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Perform a variety of nursing functions, including triage, patient education, and procedural support.
  • Travel to multiple clinical sites within Manhattan as a floating Registered Nurse.
  • Work in diverse specialties, including family medicine, pediatrics, women's health, and geriatrics.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care and maintain safety standards.
  • Utilize your expertise in phlebotomy and CPR certification to enhance patient care services.
  • Maintain and manage clinical equipment and supplies to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to infection control measures and comply with OSHA and JAHCO standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct patient triage, discharge, and education, documenting observations in medical records.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as per practitioner orders and protocols.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, vision tests, and blood glucose monitoring.
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Manage laboratory tests, referrals, and radiology requisitions, retrieving reports for practitioners.
  • Maintain clinical equipment, emergency supplies, and medical instruments per established protocols.
  • Prepare examination rooms, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies.
  • Participate in follow-up procedures for abnormal lab results and missed appointments.
  • Collaborate with staff to ensure continuity of patient care and attend required meetings.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Valid RN License in New York State and CPR certification mandatory.
  • Phlebotomy certification and proficiency in related procedures essential.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in an ambulatory setting, such as clinics or health centers.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records software and Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with infection control measures and OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standards.
  • Willingness to travel to multiple clinical sites within Manhattan as required.
