Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting diverse patient populations and practitioners.
  • Perform clinical procedures including phlebotomy, EKGs, and administering medications and treatments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of patient care and adherence to safety standards.
  • Educate patients on health management and preventive care, enhancing their understanding of medical procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and manage clinical supplies and equipment effectively.
  • Support practitioners during examinations and minor surgeries, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Participate in diagnostic and therapeutic testing and treatment, adhering to clinical protocols.
  • Travel to various clinical sites within Manhattan, providing flexible and adaptable nursing care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct patient triage, discharge, and counseling, documenting observations in medical records.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and immunizations as per practitioner orders and protocols.
  • Perform procedures such as EKGs, hearing and vision tests, and bone density assessments.
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor surgeries, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Order and maintain clinical supplies and medications, ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Process laboratory tests, referrals, and radiology requisitions, retrieving results for practitioners.
  • Maintain and sterilize clinical equipment, adhering to infection control measures.
  • Participate in follow-up procedures for abnormal lab results and missed appointments.
  • Attend meetings and report occurrences to the Unit Manager as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and valid RN license in New York State.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in an ambulatory setting such as a clinic or health center.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records software and strong skills in MS Word and Outlook.
  • Certification in CPR and phlebotomy, with experience in family medicine, pediatrics, and women’s health.
  • Ability to perform clinical procedures and manage patient education effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability to work in a busy clinical environment.
  • Knowledge of infection control measures and compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Willingness to travel to various clinical sites within Manhattan.
