Overview
- Provide clinical nursing support to practitioners in a busy healthcare setting, focusing on women's health and pediatrics.
- Perform patient education, clinical procedures, and administrative tasks to ensure high-quality care delivery.
- Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, minor surgeries, and routine examinations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare standards.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Support emergency preparedness by maintaining clinical equipment and supplies.
- Adhere to infection control measures and organizational protocols to ensure patient safety.
- Participate in professional development and organizational meetings as required.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Screen, discharge, interview, counsel, and educate patients in clinical settings.
- Administer medications, treatments, and specific practitioner orders following protocols.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, hearing and vision tests, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Assist providers with examinations, minor surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
- Manage laboratory tests, referrals, and requisition forms according to guidelines.
- Maintain clinical equipment, emergency supplies, and controlled substances records.
- Ensure examination rooms are prepared and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Communicate effectively with staff to ensure continuity of care and address patient needs.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and graduation from an approved School of Practical Nursing.
- Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York State.
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare delivery experience; recent graduates considered.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records software and Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- Knowledge of infection control measures and OSHA standards.
- Commitment to professional development and adherence to healthcare protocols.
