Job Description

Overview

  • Manage financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP standards within a healthcare organization.
  • Prepare and oversee timely monthly financial statements and complex reports.
  • Develop and administer fiscal, financial, and accounting programs for the organization.
  • Supervise annual financial audits and tax return preparations.
  • Train and mentor accounting staff in applying accounting principles effectively.
  • Collaborate with finance executives to set and achieve organizational financial goals.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data using general ledger systems.
  • Participate in policy development and fiscal control system enhancements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead month-end close processes and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Serve as liaison with external auditors and financial agencies.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets aligned with organizational goals.
  • Provide advisory input on financial procedures and regulations.
  • Supervise and evaluate accounting staff, ensuring high performance and compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within financial operations.
  • Collaborate on the development of policies governing fiscal control systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • Minimum of six years of corporate accounting experience; CPA license preferred.
  • Proven experience in preparing complex financial reports and resolving accounting issues.
  • Strong interpersonal and managerial skills with prior supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of computerized general ledger software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement, non-profit taxes, and cost report preparation preferred.
