Job Description

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

  • Consult with clients and team members to determine project and design restraints, answer questions, and create proposals and estimates 
  • Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps for proper execution 
  • Draft and create efficient, cost-effective designs with detailed specifications for proposed solutions and collaborate with other engineering teams to implement them 
  • Read and interpret technical documentation, including structural substantiation reports, test plans, and reports 
  • Collaborate with authority to obtain approval on all documentation and designs 
  • Analyze structures using various structural engineering software for the design of buildings, building foundations, equipment, and steel and concrete structures 
  • Prepare structural calculations and details of elements such as steel, concrete, and masonry 
  • Work with the project management team to monitor and assess the progress of projects 
  • Proactively assess project challenges and seek to manage or prevent them 
  • Perform field sites to observe construction activities 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering required 
  • At least two years of experience in structural engineering 
  • Proficient knowledge of building codes and safety standards 
  • Strong leadership and project management skills 
  • Experience with software engineering and design architecture, such as AutoCAD 
  • Advanced understanding of building materials, techniques, and processes 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills with an eye for creative design 
  • Comfortable working with clients and architects at all levels
