Systems Administrator

Responsibilities/Job Duties: 

• Provide technical support for server-based issues 
• Manage the configuration and operation of server-based computer operating systems 
• Monitor cloud-based systems daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns 
• Create and verify backups of data 
• Respond to and resolve help desk requests 
• Upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution 
• Help implement, execute, and promote adoption of cloud-based technology control 
• Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software, intrusion prevention and other processes 
• Review application logs 
• Install and test computer-related equipment 

Qualifications: 

• 2+ years’ experience in system administration 
• Degree in Computer Science or IT-related field or related work experience 
• Hands on experience with virtualization technologies 
• Exposure to Cloud based technologies (i.e. Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, etc.) 
• Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues 
• Experience with MySQL and/or compatible RDBMS 
• Understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and experience executing queries 
• Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours on a limited basis 
• Must be a critical thinker and resourceful problem-solver 
• Enthusiastic team player
