Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with extensive experience in ground-up commercial construction to oversee large-scale projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence. The ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully delivering complex commercial projects and mentoring project teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction to final turnover, ensuring high-quality execution.
  • Develop and implement project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee contract negotiation, cost control, and procurement to optimize project profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to project teams, including Project Managers, Superintendents, and Engineers.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Manage and resolve RFIs, change orders, and contract disputes to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, quality, and safety compliance.

Financial & Risk Management

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost reports, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Analyze and mitigate project risks, including scheduling delays, budget overruns, and material shortages.
  • Lead project closeout procedures, including punch lists, final inspections, and owner handover.

Process Improvement & Business Development

  • Drive continuous improvement in construction processes, quality control, and team efficiency.
  • Support business development efforts, including client presentations, proposal development, and relationship-building.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements to enhance company growth.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in ground-up commercial construction project management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Strong experience managing large-scale commercial projects (e.g., office buildings, industrial, retail, healthcare, hospitality).
  • Expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and financial oversight.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects and teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
