Job Description

A rapidly growing national organization is seeking a Director of Compensation to lead the design and implementation of its compensation programs. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a newly created role in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment with a collaborative HR team.

Salary: $150K–$170K base + Performance-based bonus eligibility

Schedule: 100% remote, with preference for Eastern Time Zone hours and occasional in-office presence

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, execution, and management of compensation strategy across U.S. and Canadian teams
  • Build and present compensation models to gain executive buy-in and funding approval
  • Oversee annual compensation cycles in partnership with HR and Finance teams
  • Manage executive and sales commission structures, including integration during M&A activity
  • Provide guidance to managers and department leaders on compensation decisions
  • Analyze compensation surveys and market data to ensure competitiveness
  • Support integration of acquired companies into existing compensation framework
  • Monitor compensation budgets, forecasts, and financial alignment with business goals
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant compensation regulations and policies

Qualifications:

  • 5–10 years of experience in compensation, total rewards, or related HR roles
  • Strong analytical and modeling skills with proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local compensation regulations
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Experience with M&A integration and executive comp preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
