Job Description

MRI CT Technologists: Northern Colorado (Full-Time Days)

MRI Technologists: Metro Denver (Full-Time Days or Full-Time Weekends)

Responsibilities of the MRI Technologist:

  • Perform high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures in accordance with physician orders and established departmental protocols.
  • Review patient history and assess clinical information to ensure appropriateness of MRI examinations, verifying patient identification and screening for contraindications such as metal implants or devices.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain MRI procedures, address questions or concerns, and ensure comfort, safety, and cooperation throughout the imaging process.
  • Accurately position patients and operate MRI equipment to obtain diagnostic-quality images while ensuring patient safety and minimizing artifacts.
  • Administer contrast agents as indicated, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and respond promptly to any changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system, including procedure notes and imaging records.
  • Perform routine quality assurance checks to ensure proper functioning of MRI equipment and report malfunctions or safety issues immediately.
  • Comply with all safety regulations, including MRI-specific safety protocols, and adhere to standards set by ARRT, ACR, The Joint Commission, and HIPAA.
  • Collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate, efficient, and coordinated diagnostic care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation processes to uphold imaging excellence.
  • Stay current with continuing education and advances in MRI techniques, protocols, and technology.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
  • Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and registered or registry-eligible in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) with certification required within 12 months of hire through ARRT (MRI) or the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • State licensure as required by applicable law.
