Job Description
Responsibilities:
Undertake all activities necessary to complete the annual financial close of all entities including recording all investment and operational activity.
Undertake responsibility for accounting and related administrative matters.
Reconcile 1099s, K-1s, and other tax documents to the general ledger.
Coordinate with outside accountants regarding the preparation of tax returns and tax estimates, and follow up on, and bring to conclusion, outstanding items.
Open and review monthly bank statements.
Prepare projections of expenses and cash needed.
Prepare budgets, including projecting income and the cash available for reinvestment after expenses.
Assist in management and communicate with a wide range of personnel
Assist auditors in annual audits.
Assist in Excel schedules needed for meetings.
Reconcile grant payments to the general ledger.
Review 1099s prepared by the bookkeeper.
Analyze expense accounts.
Maintain and reconcile cash activity spreadsheet for all brokerage and operating accounts.
Special projects as they come up.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
3+ years of accounting experience.
Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
Strong financial analysis skills.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organizational and stress management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
Looking for someone with exempt organization experience, but maybe also with corporate, partnership, sales tax experience as well. CPA preferred, JD would be great.
