Job Description

Title: BSA & OFAC Compliance Officer

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all functions of the BSA, AML/CFT, and OFAC compliance program, including Customer Identification Procedures (CIP), enhanced due diligence, and monitoring systems
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required regulatory filings, including SARs, CTRs, and 314(a)/(b) submissions
  • Oversee internal controls, system tuning, and policy documentation to support compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Prepare for and coordinate responses to independent and regulatory audits related to AML and sanctions compliance
  • Lead internal training initiatives related to AML/CFT and OFAC standards, policies, and regulatory updates
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic compliance improvements and institutional risk mitigation strategies
  • Supervise and mentor a team of six compliance staff, with full departmental oversight following a planned leadership transition
  • Maintain open lines of communication with banking staff, external regulators, and relevant agencies

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in BSA/AML and OFAC compliance within the banking or financial services sector
  • Strong understanding of applicable regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
  • Proven experience managing or contributing to audits, examinations, and regulatory reporting processes
  • Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to manage staff and collaborate with senior leadership
  • Familiarity with compliance monitoring tools, investigative systems, and documentation practices
  • Prior experience transitioning into or replacing a retiring leadership role is a plus
