Job Description

Title: Senior Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, billing, and payment application
  • Oversee inventory accounting, addressing discrepancies such as negative or zero stock levels, and monitor inventory count procedures
  • Maintain job cost accounting and conduct profitability reviews of projects
  • Liaise with service teams and operations managers to track project statuses and associated billings
  • Help implement a new ERP system, working cross-functionally to improve automation and workflow
  • Participate in weekly AR aging reviews with senior leadership and assist with collection strategies
  • Prepare and review journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts monthly
  • Assist with month-end close processes, ensuring accurate preparation of supporting schedules and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Identify areas for accounting process improvement and automation opportunities
  • Support tax-related accounting and regulatory compliance as needed
  • Contribute to the integration and rollout of a new enterprise accounting system

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 1–3 years of professional accounting experience; public accounting experience a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with job cost accounting, particularly in service-based or construction environments
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong general computer skills
  • Experience with or interest in ERP systems, especially during implementation phases
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate effectively with operational and field teams
  • CPA preferred but not required
  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screening
