Job Description

Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Location: Central New Mexico

Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality echocardiographic exams using 2D, 3D, and color imaging to assess cardiac function and structure.
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Communicate critical findings to the care team and contribute to timely diagnosis and treatment.
  • Prepare preliminary reports with accurate measurements for physician review.
  • Participate in outreach clinics up to once a month, offering care to underserved communities.
  • Rotate through weekday/weekend call on a “home call” basis with minimal overnight activations.
  • Collaborate with experienced sonographers and cardiologists to ensure smooth patient flow and optimal results.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and quality control tasks.
  • Stay current with best practices through continuing education sessions.

Qualifications

  • ARDMS (RDCS-AE) or CCI (RCS) credential required
  • BLS certification required at time of hire
  • NM Medical Imaging Licensure required within 90 days (if not already held)
  • Experience levels from new graduates to highly experienced sonographers considered
  • Associate’s degree or relevant allied health program graduation required; bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel / float between two hospital locations, approximately 20 minutes apart
