Primary Care Physician

Position Overview:

Provide OB/GYN patient care in an outpatient setting to a panel of women and, be responsible for the evaluation and management of care according to the accepted practice protocols.

Essential Functions:

• Provide Obstetrics & Gynecological services for patients including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment.
• Initiate, educate, and provide methods of contraception to Family Planning, Prenatal, Post-Partum, and OB and GYN patients.
• Order appropriate laboratory tests; review laboratory tests on a timely basis, and follow-up according to appropriate OB/GYN protocols. At visits, be aware of any variations or deviations from the norm, and consult/collaborate with the physician, as needed. Refer all high-risk patients for physician evaluation.
• Participate in peer review activities and other Quality Improvement
• Attend Department/Center meetings as required.
• Maintain professional competence by attending professional conferences, in-services, seminars, and other educational sessions, as requested.
• Immediately report any problems and/or unusual occurrences to supervisor.
• Must demonstrate a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, immediate supervisor, and other employees.
• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.
• Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience and Skills Required:

• 1-2 years of experience in Ambulatory Care Setting and/or Community Health Care.

Education, Licenses, and/or Certifications Required:

• Doctor of Medicine
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
