Patient Safety Officer RN – Los Angeles Healthcare System
A leading Los Angeles hospital system seeks an experienced Patient Safety Officer RN to drive quality improvement and ensure exceptional patient care standards across the acute care hospital. This Magnet designated hospital has a great local reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Improvement & Risk Management
• Conduct root cause analysis and failure mode effect analysis for significant events
• Lead cross-functional teams in developing corrective action plans
• Monitor CDPH adverse patient event reporting compliance
• Perform chart reviews and clinical audits using Lean Six Sigma methodologies
Data Analysis & Committee Leadership
• Develop statistical reports and quality metrics dashboards
• Present outcomes to leadership and regulatory bodies
• Participate in national safety goal monitoring and nursing quality committees
• Serve as subject matter expert for patient safety initiatives
Education & Licensing
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field
• Active California RN license
• 6+ years quality improvement experience (or 9+ years without degree)
• 4+ years clinical healthcare experience
• 3+ years leadership experience
Specialized Skills
• Advanced patient safety and healthcare quality standards knowledge
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and CQI tools
• Root cause analysis and risk assessment expertise
• Strong project management and communication skills
