Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consultative Leadership: Advise attorneys on developing, evaluating, and executing pricing strategies.
  • Analyst Oversight: Ensure the accuracy and timely delivery of analyst-level work.
  • Strategic Execution: Draft new content, communicate with attorneys, respond to ad hoc pricing requests, and establish processes for future use.
  • Budget and Fee Arrangements: Guide attorneys in creating task-based matter budgets and alternative fee arrangements.
  • Innovative Pricing Solutions: Develop new templates and approaches, identifying opportunities beyond existing tools.
  • Business Development Collaboration: Coordinate with the Business Development team to provide strategic guidance on RFP responses, including rate strategy and creative fee structures.
  • Professional Responsibility Liaison: Draft language and recommend edits to client guidelines, engagement agreements, and fee arrangement documentation.
  • Revenue Management Collaboration: Ensure accurate implementation of fee arrangements and rate sets.
  • Automation and Reporting: Contribute to fee arrangement tracking and reporting, facilitating automation strategies.
  • Deliverable Management: Oversee completion of deliverables across all pricing competencies, combining analyst oversight and direct contributions.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with the Pricing Associate Director to develop a collaborative LPM framework.
  • Team Development: Train, mentor, and guide the analyst pool, ensuring motivation and high-quality deliverables.
  • Independent Project Management: Complete projects independently and address follow-ups as necessary.
  • Ownership and Improvement: Demonstrate end-to-end ownership of assignments, new implementations, and process improvements.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 3+ years in pricing, estimating, and/or project management for law firms or professional services organizations, with a strong understanding of legal services components.
  • Leadership: 1+ years supervising or contributing to the supervision of junior personnel.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting analysis, results, and recommendations to senior management, non-financial personnel, and attorneys.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong interpersonal and analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze, identify, and communicate results effectively.
  • Relationship Building: Proven competency in building successful working relationships and gaining respect from partners, peers, and junior staff members.
  • Customer Focus: Demonstrated track record of strong customer focus and responsiveness.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple requests and projects without sacrificing detail-oriented quality measures, including meeting deadlines.
  • RFP Experience: Experience contributing to RFP responses.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrated competency working effectively in a team environment and taking ownership of individual assignments.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, with experience coaching others through formulas and modeling approaches.
  • Preferred Experience: Familiarity with law firm accounting systems.
