Clinical Coordinator / Medical Assistant – Cancer Center

The Clinical Coordinator plays an integral role in the daily operations of Cancer Care’s patient care team. This position is responsible for managing patient flow, triaging calls, coordinating diagnostics and records, and ensuring clear communication between providers, patients, and external organizations. The role combines administrative precision with hands-on clinical support to ensure a seamless and compassionate care experience for every patient. The candidate should be an experienced Medical Assistant, looking to take the next step for career advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage physician schedules, ensuring all records and diagnostic results are accurate and complete
  • Triage incoming phone calls from patients and medical providers, prioritizing needs and responding professionally
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, physicians, hospitals, and diagnostic centers to facilitate timely care
  • Review and update patient charts and records with exceptional attention to detail
  • Provide clinical support as needed, including rooming patients, taking vitals, drawing labs, and assisting with procedures
  • Maintain compliance with all privacy and confidentiality standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant with experience in a clinical setting
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical documentation, and diagnostic workflows
  • Ability to take vital signs and perform clinical tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort working with EMR systems
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced medical environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in oncology or other specialty practice
  • Familiarity with Mosaic or Epic EMR systems
  • Experience in patient navigation or care coordination
  • Multilingual capabilities
