We’re partnering with a leading hospital in Austin, TX to recruit a seasoned NICU Director to lead their Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is a strategic leadership role for a passionate nurse executive with a strong background in neonatal care and a desire to drive clinical excellence in a high-performing women’s and children’s program.
As NICU Director, you’ll lead a dedicated team of clinical professionals and ensure high-quality, patient-centered care in a growing and technologically advanced care environment.
✨ What You’ll Do:
Lead all operations of the Level III NICU, overseeing clinical care, staffing, patient outcomes, and performance improvement
Drive quality and safety initiatives, leveraging evidence-based practices to ensure exceptional neonatal outcomes
Forecast unit needs and manage resources efficiently to support patient flow, throughput, and staffing
Cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning across disciplines
Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards
Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic planning and program growth
Champion an unmatched family-centered care experience
📌 Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree required (BSN preferred)
Master’s Degree preferred (MSN or healthcare leadership-related field)
Current RN license in Texas or compact state licensure
BLS required; ACLS, NRP, or NICU-related certifications preferred
3+ years of nursing leadership experience required
3+ years of NICU Director experience in an acute care setting required
🎯 Ideal Candidate Has:
Proven leadership within a Level III or higher NICU
Strong working knowledge of neonatal standards, staffing models, and throughput optimization
A passion for mentoring teams and elevating the patient and family experience
A track record of success with clinical performance, regulatory readiness, and interdisciplinary collaboration
