Job Description

Job Title: Traveling Superintendent – Midwest Travel

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to oversee the construction of large-scale commercial renovation and ground up projects throughout the Midwest. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction, excellent leadership skills, and a track record of delivering complex projects safely, on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day field operations on retail construction projects ranging from $5M to $50M+
  • Supervise all on-site subcontractors, suppliers, and trades to ensure adherence to schedule, safety protocols, and quality standards
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues and maintain project momentum
  • Conduct daily site walkthroughs, safety meetings, and progress reports
  • Maintain accurate project documentation including RFIs, daily logs, and field reports
  • Ensure strict compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Communicate proactively with clients, inspectors, and vendors throughout all phases of construction
  • Manage project schedules using tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
  • Lead quality assurance efforts and final punch list completion

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of superintendent experience in commercial construction
  • Proven success managing fast-paced construction schedules and multi-trade coordination
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, site logistics, and safety planning
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, and scheduling software
  • OSHA 30 certification required
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Midwest and East Coast
