Project Manager, Multifamily Electrical Construction (Columbus, OH)

Position Summary

The Project Manager will oversee electrical installation and delivery for multifamily and mixed‑use residential projects, guiding them from preconstruction planning through successful completion. The PM ensures on‑time, on‑budget performance while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead multifamily construction projects, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and trades
  • Forecast and manage labor requirements, assist in hiring field personnel, and resolve workforce issues
  • Partner with field leadership (Superintendent, Foreman) to align on project expectations, schedules, and standards
  • Oversee and update field drawings, RFIs/RFQs, and conduct daily inspections
  • Complete daily and project paperwork, administrative documentation, and forms per company policy
  • Manage job forecasting, cost tracking, change orders, and all close‑out procedures
  • Organize regular pre‑construction and on‑site meetings with clients, GCs, and internal teams
  • Provide training and mentoring to field staff (e.g. reporting process, safety toolbox talks, material handling)
  • Participate in performance reviews, post‑project analysis, and implement process improvements
  • Learn and promote basic familiarity with CAD/Revit and prefabrication collaboration
  • Coordinate material orders, occasionally assist with deliveries, and schedule vendor interactions
  • Build and maintain relationships within the construction and development community

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical construction, including at least 5 years supervising or managing multifamily projects
  • Demonstrated knowledge in job costing, planning, quality control, safety training, and contract administration
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with MS Project preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical construction materials, methods, and tools
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and competence in arithmetic, algebra, and geometry applications
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving standards

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with NEC code compliance and installed electrical systems
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentation
  • Exposure to LEED or sustainable construction practices
