Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform systematic assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health status.
- Administer medications and therapeutic treatments, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
- Educate patients and families on health maintenance strategies and self-care practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to validate orders and coordinate patient care activities.
- Document patient care activities and outcomes in accordance with organizational standards.
- Act as a resource and advocate for patients, referring to appropriate services when necessary.
- Monitor and manage clinical inventory to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and adhere to compliance policies.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred for higher compensation tiers.
- Minimum of one year of experience in ambulatory, medical surgery, or ER settings preferred.
- Active RN license in New York State with current BCLS, Infection Control, and Child Abuse certifications.
- Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture and administer medications, including immunizations.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health record systems.
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish preferred to enhance patient communication.
- Physical ability to perform essential nursing functions, including occasional lifting and movement.
