Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform systematic assessments of patients’ physical, psychosocial, and spiritual health status.
  • Administer medications and therapeutic treatments, ensuring compliance with established protocols.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance strategies and self-care practices.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to validate orders and coordinate patient care activities.
  • Document patient care activities and outcomes in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Act as a resource and advocate for patients, referring to appropriate services when necessary.
  • Monitor and manage clinical inventory to ensure availability of necessary supplies.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and adhere to compliance policies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred for higher compensation tiers.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in ambulatory, medical surgery, or ER settings preferred.
  • Active RN license in New York State with current BCLS, Infection Control, and Child Abuse certifications.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform venipuncture and administer medications, including immunizations.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and electronic health record systems.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
  • Bi-lingual proficiency in Spanish preferred to enhance patient communication.
  • Physical ability to perform essential nursing functions, including occasional lifting and movement.
