Overview
- Assist Merchants in delivering go-to-market strategies and supporting merchandising activities to ensure operational excellence within the division.
- Negotiate and purchase goods with vendors to achieve optimal value and quality while adhering to lead times.
- Develop strong vendor communications for follow-ups and managing procurement terms effectively.
- Analyze trends and issues to manage product gross profit and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with internal support functions including Marketing, Online, Supply Chain, and Pricing teams.
- Maintain product data integrity within software systems to ensure accurate cost and inventory management.
- Collaborate with stores and vendors to troubleshoot operational issues and ensure seamless communication.
- Perform audits on product quality, sales performance, and profit margins to identify improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Negotiate and purchase goods with vendors to ensure value and quality alignment.
- Arrange appropriate quantities and lead times for procurement activities.
- Create and confirm purchase orders and invoices while managing master data using SAP systems.
- Update prices and items in SAP to maintain cost and gross margins effectively.
- Coordinate distribution and resolve issues with vendors and suppliers.
- Assist stores with operational needs and ensure smooth communication channels.
- Review weekly sales data and reports to identify trends and opportunities.
- Ensure product data integrity within software systems under merchant direction.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree required, preferably in a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in procurement or grocery-related roles.
- Proficiency in SAP systems for inventory and data management.
- Strong analytical skills to manage gross profit and sales trends effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Ability to perform audits and ensure product quality and profitability.
- Willingness to work on-site in Bronx, NY, with a 5am-2pm shift schedule.
