Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage outpatient surgical services, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate and safe healthcare services.
  • Supervise and coordinate nursing care across PreOP Bays, PACU, PAT, Recovery, and ENDO departments.
  • Implement performance improvement initiatives and hospital policies to enhance service delivery.
  • Oversee financial management of assigned units, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Support staff development and training to maintain high standards of care.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of departmental goals.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and healthcare best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate nursing activities across multiple surgical departments.
  • Ensure efficient patient flow and optimal utilization of resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and support.
  • Develop and implement policies to improve patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Surgery to align departmental objectives with organizational goals.
  • Manage budgets and financial resources for assigned units.
  • Oversee training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of acute care leadership experience in surgical services.
  • Preferred 5 years of experience as a staff nurse in surgical areas.
  • Current TX RN License or RN Compact State License is mandatory.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from approved vendors are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.
  • Cardiovascular experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of performance improvement and financial management practices.
