Job Description
Overview
- Lead and manage outpatient surgical services, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate and safe healthcare services.
- Supervise and coordinate nursing care across PreOP Bays, PACU, PAT, Recovery, and ENDO departments.
- Implement performance improvement initiatives and hospital policies to enhance service delivery.
- Oversee financial management of assigned units, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Support staff development and training to maintain high standards of care.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and execution of departmental goals.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and healthcare best practices.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing activities across multiple surgical departments.
- Ensure efficient patient flow and optimal utilization of resources.
- Monitor and evaluate staff performance, providing feedback and support.
- Develop and implement policies to improve patient care and safety.
- Collaborate with the Director of Surgery to align departmental objectives with organizational goals.
- Manage budgets and financial resources for assigned units.
- Oversee training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care leadership experience in surgical services.
- Preferred 5 years of experience as a staff nurse in surgical areas.
- Current TX RN License or RN Compact State License is mandatory.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from approved vendors are required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Cardiovascular experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of performance improvement and financial management practices.
