Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide direct patient care to neonates in the NICU, utilizing advanced nursing practices.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate interventions and treatments.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and execute care plans.
- Educate and support families, ensuring they understand treatment plans and care procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Precept and mentor new staff, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
- Active RN licensure and certifications in BLS, NRP, and STABLE within six months of hire.
- Minimum six months of Women and Infants nursing experience or completion of a fellowship program.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal care practices and NICU protocols.
- Ability to work night shifts, including three 12-hour shifts per week.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and certification maintenance.
- Experience in evidence-based practice and patient-centered care models.
