Overview

- Manage a 20-bed ICU unit, ensuring optimal staffing and resource allocation.

- Oversee clinical supervisors, RNs, and patient care technicians, fostering a culture of accountability.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in a comprehensive stroke center environment.
- Support union campaign management and productivity improvement efforts within the department.
- Provide educational support and clinical guidance in collaboration with shared educators.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct 24/7 operations of the ICU unit, ensuring high-quality patient care delivery.
- Implement and monitor staffing plans to maintain productivity and operational efficiency.
- Develop and execute strategies to enhance employee engagement and team collaboration.
- Facilitate strong communication and relationships with healthcare providers and stakeholders.
- Participate in and chair multiple hospital committees to drive organizational goals.
- Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and standards for medical, cardiac, and neuro patients.
- Support recruitment and retention initiatives to build a robust ICU team.
- Provide rationale and inclusive decision-making approaches for departmental changes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years ICU nursing experience; 7 years preferred.
- At least 3 years leadership experience in acute care settings required.
- Certified Critical Care RN (CCRN) preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with healthcare providers.
- Experience in managing union campaigns and productivity improvements.
- Proven ability to foster employee engagement and accountability.
