Overview

  • Lead accounting operations for a dynamic energy company, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SOX regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and reporting.
  • Contribute to the financial close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the development and implementation of corporate accounting policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
  • Participate in strategic initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage in continuous improvement efforts to optimize accounting operations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirements in all accounting activities.
  • Collaborate with finance and business partners to align accounting practices with organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement effective accounting policies and procedures.
  • Prepare accurate financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure compliance.
  • Manage and mentor accounting team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 6–9 years of relevant accounting experience, including public company exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting processes.
  • Proven ability to manage financial close processes and deliver accurate results.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communicator with cross-functional collaboration experience.
  • Motivated to lead and contribute to a fast-paced accounting organization.
  • Experience in public accounting or a combination of public and corporate accounting preferred.
