Job Description

Overview

  • The Estimator role involves managing project estimation processes for a growing construction company.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to secure and execute large-scale construction projects.
  • Contribute to expanding the client’s portfolio in site work and new builds.
  • Utilize existing industry relationships to identify and pursue project opportunities.
  • Work closely with the current estimator to streamline estimation processes.
  • Maintain a focus on achieving project goals and meeting client expectations.
  • Contribute to the company’s growth by landing 3-5 major projects annually.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in estimation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials and labor.
  • Analyze project specifications and collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope.
  • Identify and evaluate potential risks and opportunities in project estimates.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure alignment with estimates.
  • Provide support in contract negotiations and bid submissions.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and pricing to enhance estimation accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimation; 7 years preferred.
  • Proven ability to secure large-scale construction projects effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Experience with site work and new build projects is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate with field teams effectively.
