Job Description

Overview

  • Provide specialized care in outpatient musculoskeletal medicine, focusing on physical rehabilitation and pain management.
  • Diagnose and treat patients with injuries, diseases, or disabling conditions affecting musculoskeletal health.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient care and recovery outcomes.
  • Perform medical procedures such as injections and electrodiagnostic testing to enhance physical functioning.
  • Prescribe appropriate orthotic devices and monitor their fitting and effectiveness.
  • Document patient progress and maintain comprehensive medical records for all services provided.
  • Conduct initial evaluations and periodic re-evaluations to assess rehabilitation needs and progress.
  • Offer counseling to patients and families, assisting them in adapting to lifestyle changes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Examine patients to determine physical therapy needs and rehabilitation potential.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans for musculoskeletal conditions.
  • Perform medical procedures, including injections, to manage pain and improve mobility.
  • Lead a team of medical professionals, ensuring high-quality patient care and collaboration.
  • Monitor patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary for optimal outcomes.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including X-rays, MRIs, and ultrasounds.
  • Prescribe orthotic devices and ensure their proper fitting and usage.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for all patient interactions and treatments.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree required.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible with the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).
  • Preferred experience in outpatient musculoskeletal practice and rehabilitation treatments.
  • Proficiency in performing injections and prescribing pain management strategies.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate with a team of physical therapists and assistants.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic testing techniques, including electrodiagnostic testing (EMG – NCV).
  • Strong documentation skills for maintaining detailed patient records and progress reports.
