Job Description

Overview

  • Lead financial operations in a dynamic startup environment, ensuring accurate accounting, reporting, and budgeting processes.
  • Oversee office management, human resources, and facilities support to maintain organizational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and external CPA firm to develop financial strategies and ensure compliance.
  • Manage automated financial applications and systems for streamlined operations and reporting.
  • Support investment activities and capital raising efforts to drive company growth.
  • Ensure adherence to GAAP standards and oversee tax preparation and audits.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative energy storage solutions in a fast-paced industry.
  • Provide leadership in financial planning and forecasting to align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Execute financial operations, including historical accounting, monthly reporting, and budget preparation.
  • Manage financial applications such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, and PayChex for efficient operations.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze results, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate budgeting, cash flow analysis, and capital planning with the executive team.
  • Oversee office management tasks, including vendor communications and IT service provider liaison.
  • Manage HR platforms, employee relations, and benefits administration processes.
  • Support facilities activities, ensuring safety protocols and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with external CPA firm on annual reviews and tax return preparation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Solid GAAP knowledge and financial reporting technical skills.
  • Experience in startup environments and managing equity investments is preferred.
  • Strong forecasting and budget development capabilities.
  • Knowledge of HR administration and facilities management practices.
  • CPA certification is a plus but not required.
