Overview
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care during designated shifts in the Labor and Delivery unit.
- Collaborate with management to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures for optimal patient outcomes.
- Serve as a resource for staff, modeling commitment to organizational values and vision.
- Support patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery as needed.
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient throughput.
- Participate in staff scheduling and manage labor aspects in line with productivity guidelines.
- Provide recommendations for staff selection, training, and development to enhance organizational performance.
- Ensure proper inventory control and manage supplies and equipment effectively.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Direct and monitor nursing care quality, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to foster teamwork and improved service outcomes.
- Support facility engagement initiatives, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
- Assist with interviewing, selecting, and training new staff members.
- Implement training, conflict resolution, and personnel policy compliance measures.
- Manage staff scheduling and ensure alignment with patient care needs.
- Deliver babies and perform scrubbing in the OR as required.
- Act as the go-to person for staffing needs during overnight shifts.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Associate Degree acceptable with additional experience.
- Registered Nurse certification mandatory.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within one year of employment.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience required.
- Previous leadership experience in Woman’s, L&D, NICU, or Mother-Baby Units preferred.
- Ability to deliver babies and perform surgical scrubbing in OR as needed.
- Comfortable with overnight shifts and acting as the primary staffing resource.
