Overview
- Support the client’s tax department by ensuring compliance with Sales & Use Tax regulations and maintaining accurate records.
- Contribute to the preparation and submission of tax returns and payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Assist with audits, data collection, and documentation related to Sales & Use Tax compliance.
- Maintain business license files and ensure adherence to jurisdictional requirements.
- Collaborate with various departments and external authorities to resolve tax-related issues effectively.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the tax department and implement solutions.
- Work in a hybrid environment, combining remote and on-site responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Maintain and update jurisdiction files, tax tracking sheets, and return files for compliance.
- Prepare and manage business licenses to meet filing deadlines accurately and timely.
- Assist with audits by collecting data, preparing reports, and organizing documentation.
- Process Sales & Use Tax returns and payments using electronic and paper methods.
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts and review use tax accruals monthly.
- Communicate with state and local authorities, branch locations, and internal teams.
- Update tax rates and compliance software, ensuring accuracy and functionality.
- Perform research on state and local tax regulations and licensing requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the tax department.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Indirect Tax and Accounting; 3 years preferred.
- Proficiency in Sales & Use Tax compliance and exemption certificate management.
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting tax laws and recommending solutions.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with internal teams and external authorities.
- Experience with tax compliance software and electronic banking databases.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of General Ledger reconciliation and use tax accrual processes.
