Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Behavioral Health department, establishing policies and goals to ensure exceptional patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to align departmental strategies with organizational objectives and long-term planning.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and participate in accreditation processes to maintain quality assurance.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and protocols to optimize operational efficiency and patient care outcomes.
  • Monitor expenditures and resource allocation to ensure cost-effective service delivery.
  • Stay informed about industry advancements, technologies, and regulatory changes to enhance departmental performance.
  • Actively participate in process improvements and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address organizational challenges.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct and oversee patient assessments, care planning, and support for patients and families adjusting to new surroundings.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, conducting performance evaluations and setting professional development goals.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop strategic plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and oversee accreditation processes to maintain service quality.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Monitor departmental expenditures and ensure cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to improve service delivery and address organizational challenges.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and quality control practices to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or seven years of direct experience required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field; 5 years preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Medical Social Worker (LMSW) state licensure required.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to manage cross-functional relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in healthcare software systems, data analysis tools, and Microsoft and Google platforms.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Ability to foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address organizational challenges effectively.
