Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the tax and accounting department of a dynamic and growing organization.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations while optimizing financial strategies.
  • Collaborate with a US East Coast-based team in a hybrid work environment.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a new office in South Carolina.
  • Manage tax planning, preparation, review, compliance, and research processes.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff accountants, fostering professional growth.
  • Develop expertise in tax software and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to the firm's strategic vision and dynamic growth plans.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead and manage tax planning, preparation, compliance, and research efforts.
  • Utilize tax software and tools for efficient and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare and review various tax returns, including individual, corporate, and partnership.
  • Ensure compliance with prevailing tax laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate complex accounting projects and initiatives with the team.
  • Supervise and mentor staff accountants, providing constructive feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services and workplace efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with partners to address issues and develop strategic solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA certification is mandatory for this role.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a CPA firm is required.
  • Proficiency in UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intuit products is preferred.
  • Experience in real estate accounting is advantageous.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
