Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and supervise tax and accounting operations within a dynamic and growing organization.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage tax planning, preparation, and review processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients to deliver exceptional accounting services.
  • Guide and oversee the work of accounting team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Support strategic initiatives and contribute to the establishment of a new office location.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and verify the accuracy of general ledger accounts and journal entries.
  • Manage tax planning, preparation, compliance, and research activities to meet regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and review various tax returns, including individual, fiduciary, corporate, and partnership.
  • Collaborate with partners and managers on special projects and ad-hoc assignments.
  • Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, ensuring high-quality work output.
  • Utilize accounting software and tools to optimize operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders to address accounting needs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • CPA certification or active CPA candidacy is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a CPA firm; 7 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in UltraTax CS, Checkpoint, Microsoft Office Suite, and Intuit products is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Columbia or Lexington, SC area for hybrid work.
