Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax management for credit funds, ensuring compliance with domestic and international regulations.
  • Collaborate with external advisors on tax structuring and reporting for investment strategies.
  • Support fund entities with tax compliance workflows and processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Research and coordinate tax issues related to funds and special purpose vehicles.
  • Monitor compliance with tax provisions in fund agreements and investor side letters.
  • Develop projections of tax income for new strategies and funds.
  • Streamline information flows and processes for internal teams and investor reporting.
  • Contribute to the CLO PFIC Statement process and assess CFC status annually.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and manage workflows for tax compliance, collaborating with external tax preparers.
  • Assist in structuring and implementing investment structures, optimizing tax strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-border tax structuring and transactions with external advisors.
  • Monitor compliance with tax provisions in fund agreements, addressing UBTI/ECI minimization.
  • Develop tax income projections for new strategies and funds.
  • Prepare supporting workpapers and memorandums for tax calculations and structures.
  • Coordinate CLO PFIC Statement processes and assess CFC status annually.
  • Understand key book/tax differences for credit and real assets funds.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax management within investment management or related fields.
  • Preferred 10 years of experience in public accounting/tax firm or private equity.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in tax structuring and compliance for investment funds and vehicles.
  • Experience with CLO PFIC Statements and CFC status assessments.
  • Knowledge of book/tax differences and tax elections implications.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across business lines and external advisors.
