Job Description

Overview

  • Lead trauma program initiatives, ensuring optimal patient care and compliance with state directives.
  • Collaborate with EMS, fire, and police services to enhance trauma response protocols.
  • Coordinate trauma system evaluations, maintaining registry documentation and corrective action plans.
  • Develop policies and procedures aligned with best practices and state trauma guidelines.
  • Prepare for trauma designation site visits, ensuring adherence to national standards.
  • Provide guidance during trauma team activations, monitoring care quality.
  • Maintain knowledge through research, conferences, and certifications in trauma care.
  • Support emergency department initiatives under the direction of the medical director.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement cost-effective care systems for trauma patients and families.
  • Serve as liaison between hospital and external emergency services providers.
  • Coordinate trauma program activities under the trauma medical director's guidance.
  • Monitor and evaluate trauma system plans, documenting findings in the registry.
  • Ensure compliance with NH TEMSIS reporting system guidelines.
  • Respond to trauma activations, providing leadership and quality monitoring.
  • Participate in statewide and national trauma committees as required.
  • Assist emergency department initiatives and resource hospital activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required; associate degree in nursing acceptable.
  • Minimum three years of recent acute care trauma patient experience required.
  • Current NH RN registration and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC mandatory.
  • Preferred certification in CEN and familiarity with trauma registry systems.
  • Strong knowledge of NH TEMSIS reporting and trauma care protocols.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external emergency services.
  • Proven ability to develop policies and procedures based on best practices.
  • Experience in preparing for trauma designation site visits preferred.
