Overview

  • The Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist supports individuals in developing essential skills for community living and personal growth.
  • Facilitates positive social, emotional, and educational development for children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Provides rehabilitation interventions and collaborative training to build developmentally appropriate skills.
  • Promotes coping strategies and effective functioning within diverse social environments.
  • Supports individuals in managing symptoms that affect daily living activities.
  • Assists in re-establishing social skills and achieving developmental milestones.
  • Works in a hybrid environment with a mix of remote and in-person days.
  • Offers opportunities to work with diverse populations and contribute to community integration.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide individualized training and interventions in home and community settings.
  • Aid individuals in developing social and interpersonal skills for effective community living.
  • Support self-management of symptoms affecting daily routines and activities.
  • Facilitate the development of day-to-day competencies and routines for sustainable living.
  • Document services provided accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with individuals to achieve their personal and community goals.
  • Work with children, adolescents, and adults to enhance their mental and emotional well-being.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve service delivery.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in behavioral health settings; 2 years preferred.
  • Experience with children’s mental health, addiction, foster care, or adult substance use disorder services.
  • Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse social, cultural, and economic groups.
  • Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Trained in Multi-System Family Treatment is highly desirable.
