Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as an Assistant Nursing Supervisor overseeing residential nurses at designated sites.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and organizational policies.
  • Provide administrative oversight and support for nursing staff.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary meetings to develop treatment and healthcare plans.
  • Conduct health education, training, and OPWDD-required in-services.
  • Manage medical records and documentation to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Oversee quarterly medication reviews for group homes and institutions.
  • Work closely with residential staff to meet medical needs of individuals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and oversee residential nurses at designated Bronx sites.
  • Ensure adherence to OPWDD regulations and organizational standards.
  • Manage medical records and documentation for assigned nurses.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary meetings to develop treatment plans.
  • Conduct health education and training sessions for staff.
  • Ensure timely consents for medical procedures and medication.
  • Participate in committees such as CQI, ICC, HRC, and IRC.
  • Oversee quarterly medication reviews and ensure compliance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current NYS RN license.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience and 2 years management oversight.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities and healthcare management.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct health education and training sessions effectively.
  • Experience in medical record management and documentation.
  • Familiarity with OPWDD regulations and compliance requirements.
