Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Registered Nurse overseeing residential nursing staff at designated sites.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and organizational policies.
  • Provide administrative oversight and support to nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop healthcare plans.
  • Conduct health education and training sessions for staff.
  • Manage medical records and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate routine and emergency healthcare services.
  • Participate in committees to enhance healthcare quality.
  • Work on-site with occasional fieldwork to Bronx locations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and oversee residential nurses at assigned locations.
  • Ensure compliance with OPWDD regulations and organizational standards.
  • Manage medical records and documentation processes.
  • Collaborate with residential staff to address medical needs.
  • Conduct health education and mandatory training sessions.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings for healthcare planning.
  • Ensure timely consents and appointments for healthcare services.
  • Perform quarterly medication reviews for group homes.
  • Contribute to committees for continuous quality improvement.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Current NYS RN License mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience; 4 years preferred.
  • At least 2 years of management experience overseeing medical personnel.
  • Knowledge of developmental disabilities and healthcare management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy and healthcare software.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions and health education programs.
  • Flexibility for on-call duties and occasional fieldwork.
