Overview
- Lead the tax compliance function for a prominent real estate investment firm.
- Collaborate with senior executives to ensure accurate and timely tax filings.
- Manage federal, state, and local tax compliance processes, including partnership returns.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external tax consultants and advisors.
- Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on compliance strategies.
- Support internal teams with tax-related inquiries and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accurate reporting and data flow.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual tax reporting and provision calculations.
- Maintain organized tax documentation and support schedules for audits and reviews.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee preparation and review of all tax returns, including partnership returns and K-1s.
- Coordinate with external consultants to ensure compliance with tax regulations.
- Monitor filing deadlines and ensure timely submission of all tax documents.
- Assist in quarterly and annual tax provision calculations and reporting.
- Analyze changes in tax laws and provide recommendations for compliance strategies.
- Support internal teams with tax-related inquiries and documentation needs.
- Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate data flow for tax reporting.
- Maintain organized tax documentation for audits and compliance reviews.
- Provide guidance on tax implications for business operations and transactions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax compliance or related roles.
- Preferred 10 years of experience in tax management within the real estate sector.
- Proficiency in federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance processes.
- Experience with partnership returns and K-1 preparation is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills for managing tax documentation and support schedules.
- Ability to monitor and adapt to changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with external consultants and internal teams.
- CPA certification or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
