Job Description

Overview

  • Lead mechanical engineering initiatives within a multidisciplinary firm, ensuring project success and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with teams across departments to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Provide strategic direction for mechanical engineering projects, aligning with organizational goals.
  • Engage with clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure project alignment and execution.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative engineering designs and methodologies.
  • Support the growth and development of junior engineering staff through mentoring and guidance.
  • Participate in strategic planning and forecasting for engineering projects.
  • Maintain compliance with industry codes and standards in all engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage engineering projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and milestone tracking.
  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and document findings for project planning.
  • Prepare detailed project reports, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
  • Oversee the creation of construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit software.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders throughout project phases.
  • Attend project-related meetings, including design reviews and construction planning.
  • Provide guidance during construction administration, ensuring adherence to plans.
  • Develop and enforce technical standards and policies within the engineering department.
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering professional growth and expertise.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer with HVAC design expertise preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience, with 15 years preferred, including team management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and load calculation software like Trane Trace or Carrier HAP.
  • Experience with public and private commercial, educational, and institutional projects.
  • Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and public bidding procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and develop client relationships.
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with leadership and mentoring capabilities.
