Overview
- Manage technical accounting and reporting processes for a publicly traded organization, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to produce accurate financial statements and reports.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of best-in-class processes and procedures for financial reporting.
- Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions and new accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of purchase price allocations and lease accounting conclusions.
- Support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance by implementing and enforcing internal controls.
- Collaborate with IT/IS teams to enhance accounting software and systems.
- Participate in projects related to software implementation and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and footnotes for quarterly and annual reporting.
- Coordinate external audits and internal reviews, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
- Conduct impairment analyses and provide technical accounting conclusions for lease transactions.
- Draft white papers on technical accounting matters and provide guidance to the accounting team.
- Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to align with business and compliance needs.
- Identify workflow improvements and recommend enhancements to support accurate financial reporting.
- Provide direction and support to junior professionals, fostering skill development and teamwork.
- Collaborate with valuation firms for purchase price allocations and stock-based compensation valuations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
- 5-7 years of relevant corporate or public accounting experience.
- Progress towards or completion of CPA designation preferred.
- Experience with ERP and accounting systems; MRI software experience a plus.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
