Job Description

Overview

  • Manage technical accounting and reporting processes for a publicly traded organization, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to produce accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best-in-class processes and procedures for financial reporting.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions and new accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of purchase price allocations and lease accounting conclusions.
  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley compliance by implementing and enforcing internal controls.
  • Collaborate with IT/IS teams to enhance accounting software and systems.
  • Participate in projects related to software implementation and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and footnotes for quarterly and annual reporting.
  • Coordinate external audits and internal reviews, ensuring timely completion and accuracy.
  • Conduct impairment analyses and provide technical accounting conclusions for lease transactions.
  • Draft white papers on technical accounting matters and provide guidance to the accounting team.
  • Develop and update accounting policies and procedures to align with business and compliance needs.
  • Identify workflow improvements and recommend enhancements to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Provide direction and support to junior professionals, fostering skill development and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with valuation firms for purchase price allocations and stock-based compensation valuations.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited university.
  • 5-7 years of relevant corporate or public accounting experience.
  • Progress towards or completion of CPA designation preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems; MRI software experience a plus.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
