Overview
- The Advanced Practice Provider Educator oversees education and clinical development for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
- Responsible for measuring competencies and providing ongoing clinical resources.
- Collaborates with medical staff to ensure appropriate privileges and onboarding processes.
- Develops evidence-based standards of care and policies.
- Utilizes diverse methods for continuing education, including lectures and simulation labs.
- Supports new APPs during onboarding and clinical development phases.
- Participates in committees and projects to enhance organizational practices.
- Ensures compliance with billing, coding, and regulatory standards.
- Works collaboratively with medical staff, nursing, and administration.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Educates new and existing APPs on clinical matters relevant to their expertise.
- Develops and manages clinical competencies for APPs.
- Collaborates with medical staff to ensure proper delineation of privileges.
- Manages onboarding checklists for new APPs in collaboration with lead APPs.
- Utilizes various educational methods for continuing professional development.
- Develops standards of care and policies for clinical practices.
- Supports APPs in their professional growth and clinical evolution.
- Participates in organizational committees and task forces.
- Ensures compliance with billing, coding, and regulatory standards.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree required.
- Current New York State licensure and national certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a relevant field.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency in procedures and techniques within delineation of privileges.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across disciplines.
- Experience in developing and implementing clinical education programs.
- Knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical medicine.
- Ability to participate in committees and contribute to organizational initiatives.
