Overview
- Serve as an Advanced Practice Provider Educator, focusing on clinical development and competency measurement for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners.
- Develop and implement evidence-based standards of care, policies, and procedures to ensure quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with medical staff and administration to enhance onboarding processes and clinical education programs.
- Utilize diverse educational methods, including simulations, lectures, and online resources, to support ongoing staff development.
- Participate in organizational committees, task forces, and projects to contribute to strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with billing, coding, and regulatory standards through targeted education and training.
- Act as a resource for staff, fostering clinical growth and professional development across disciplines.
- Maintain proficiency in anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical medicine to support educational activities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Educate new and existing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners on clinical matters, procedures, and department-specific needs.
- Develop, measure, and manage clinical competencies, ensuring compliance with delineation of privileges.
- Collaborate with Lead APPs to manage onboarding checklists and support new staff during their transition.
- Create and deliver continuing education programs using innovative methods and resources.
- Develop evidence-based standards of care and policies to enhance clinical practices.
- Participate in committees and projects to drive organizational improvement and collaboration.
- Provide education on billing, coding, and compliance to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve organizational goals.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree and current New York State licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
- National certification and a minimum of five years of clinical experience.
- Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Proficiency in procedures, techniques, and skills approved in delineation of privileges.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, pathophysiology, and clinical medicine.
- Ability to develop and implement educational programs using diverse methods and resources.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across disciplines and specialties.
