Overview
- Work as a Central Sterile Technician in a healthcare setting, ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Contribute to patient safety by maintaining high standards of hygiene and sterilization processes.
- Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment, performing routine efficacy tests to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering to support operational efficiency.
- Track surgical instrument trays and patient equipment through all cleaning and sterilization phases using established systems.
- Work onsite during assigned shifts, ensuring timely processing of medical equipment.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to meet sterilization and equipment preparation needs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Process sterile surgical instrument trays for the operating room and ancillary areas.
- Collect, clean, disinfect, inspect, and sterilize surgical instrument trays and medical equipment.
- Maintain inventory and assist with ordering supplies to ensure operational readiness.
- Track surgical instrument trays and patient equipment through cleaning and sterilization phases using manual systems.
- Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment, performing routine efficacy tests.
- Ensure compliance with established sterilization protocols and standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to address equipment sterilization needs effectively.
- Support a safe and hygienic environment for patients and staff.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification in Central Sterile from CRCST or CSPDT accrediting agencies is mandatory.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Central Service preferred.
- Proficiency in operating sterilization and decontamination equipment.
- Strong understanding of sterilization protocols and hygiene standards.
- Ability to manage inventory and assist in supply ordering.
- Effective collaboration skills with healthcare professionals.
