Job Description
Overview
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and the data/analytics team to ensure effective communication and alignment.
- Gather, document, and prioritize data and reporting requirements to support organizational objectives.
- Manage the team's backlog using Azure DevOps and facilitate sprint planning sessions.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into actionable technical specifications.
- Evaluate reporting requests and recommend appropriate tools for data visualization and analysis.
- Track project progress, identify blockers, and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
- Support other IT projects during periods of lower data team demand.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct stakeholder interviews to identify data, reporting, and analytics needs.
- Document current state data issues, pain points, and reporting gaps.
- Prioritize and groom backlog items, creating well-defined user stories.
- Organize sprint planning and manage work assignments for data projects.
- Facilitate communication between business users and technical team members.
- Validate delivered solutions meet business requirements and coordinate UAT.
- Maintain documentation of business processes, data definitions, and reporting specifications.
- Support cross-departmental business process assessments and identify improvement opportunities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in data or analytics.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project management tools.
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills.
- Understanding of Agile methodologies and sprint-based workflows.
- Familiarity with data and analytics concepts, including data warehousing and ETL.
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and understanding queries.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or similar reporting platforms.
