Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as the primary backup to the Payroll Manager, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Provide supervisory and operational support within the payroll function, contributing to team efficiency.
  • Utilize advanced payroll systems for processing, reporting, and auditing payroll data.
  • Maintain compliance with confidentiality policies and payroll-related regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address payroll inquiries effectively.
  • Participate in special payroll initiatives and projects to enhance operational performance.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise payroll staff and support the Payroll Manager in team management.
  • Process bi-weekly payrolls using UKG PRO and UKG Workforce Management systems.
  • Manage employee deductions, direct deposits, garnishments, and tax filings.
  • Generate and reconcile payroll reports to ensure payment accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare annual payroll-related statements, including W-2, 1099, and 1095C forms.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries and wage verification requests promptly.
  • Participate in ad hoc payroll projects and initiatives as required.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of payroll/accounting experience; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification or Certified Payroll Professional credential desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and automated payroll systems essential.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll terminology, processes, and systems required.
  • Effective communication skills for drafting business correspondence and providing verbal instructions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and efficiency.
