Overview
- Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Oversee project accounting operations, including revenue, profit, cash flow, and risk management.
- Collaborate with leadership to provide insights into financial performance and strategic planning.
- Drive process improvements and efficiency within project accounting systems and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and recommend enhancements to policies and procedures.
- Support audit processes by compiling and analyzing necessary financial data.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare, analyze, and maintain project-related financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Monitor and report on business unit financials, including revenue, profit, and cash flow.
- Assess and improve systems and manual processes related to project accounting operations.
- Communicate and enforce accounting policies and procedures across the organization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external audits.
- Identify and mitigate potential financial risks in collaboration with leadership.
- Manage departmental workload and capacity to optimize staff utilization effectively.
- Provide training and support to accounting associates and senior associates.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with strong accounting experience preferred.
- Five to eight years of accounting experience, ideally within project accounting.
- Proficiency in JD Edwards or comparable ERP solutions and analytical tools.
- Knowledge of GAAP principles and cost control methodologies.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide team members effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, including public speaking and presentation capabilities.
- Ability to influence change and improve departmental efficiency and morale.
- Capability to manage projects from conceptualization to implementation successfully.
