Overview

- Prepare patients for examinations, recording vitals, and updating medical histories in electronic systems.
- Administer medications and vaccinations under physician directives, ensuring accurate and safe delivery.
- Conduct routine screenings and tests, including mammograms, EKGs, and colorectal screenings.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to maintain high standards of patient care and engagement.
- Provide wound care, dressing changes, and ensure sterile equipment maintenance.
- Offer patient counseling on medications, diets, and health management strategies.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare patients for clinical examinations, taking vitals and updating medical records accurately.
- Administer medications and perform injections as directed by licensed healthcare providers.
- Conduct routine diagnostic tests and screenings, ensuring precise execution and documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality of medical equipment and examination rooms.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Provide phlebotomy services with high accuracy, particularly for senior-aged patients.
- Counsel patients on health management, medication adherence, and special dietary requirements.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Job Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification as a Registered/Certified Medical Assistant.
- High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
- CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis screening requirements.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with successful completion of a proficiency exam.
- Preferred experience in phlebotomy and medication/vaccine administration.
- Knowledge of Value-Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a healthcare team.
